  3. Welcome to the CICA CDROM!

  5. This two-disc CDROM set contains over 1.2 gigabytes of the latest shareware
  6. and freeware for Microsoft Windows 95/3.1/NT.  You'll find utilities to help
  7. you use Windows smarter and faster for both work and play.  This CD includes
  8. hundreds of utilities, drivers, fonts, bitmaps, games, programming tools, and
  9. more, all designed specifically for Windows!  The disc is based on the best
  10. Windows programs available from a variety of our archives at ftp.cdrom.com.
  11. Most of the files on this disc are in the compressed 'zip' format.

  32. Quick Start Instructions:
  33.  
  34.   Windows 3.1/NT:
  35.     Go to "File" menu under program manager and choose Run.  At the
  36.     Command Line box, type: "D:\setup", assuming 'D' is your cdrom drive.
  37.     This will install a group folder with icons for this cdrom.
  38.  
  39.   MSDOS Quick Start:
  40.     Change to your CDROM drive and type "view".
  41.     Example:
  42.           C:\> D:
  43.           D:\> view
  44.  
  45.   Windows 95:
  46.     Insert the cdrom into the cdrom drive.  This will automatically
  47.     start a CDROM browser program called WinView.
  48.     Alternatively, you can also install the program group and icon
  49.     by selecting the "Start" menu and choosing "Run".  At the Run
  50.     box, type: "D:\setup", assuming 'D' is your cdrom drive.

  52. Using the 00_INDEX.HTM:
  53.  
  54. We have included 00_index.htm files so the user may use a Web browser
  55. to view our disc.

  57. In order to view this disc using these 00_index.htm files, point your
  58. Web browser to the root level 00_index.htm file.

  60. For example, in Netscape:

  62.   1. Click on "File"
  63.   2. Click on "Open File"
  64.   3. Choose your CDROM drive
  65.   4. Select the 00_index.htm file

  67. In Internet Explorer:

  69.   1. Click on "File"
  70.   2. Click on "Open"
  71.   3. Click on "Browse"
  72.   4. Choose your CDROM drive
  73.   5. Select the 00_index.htm file

  75. The 00_index.htm files have been tested under Netscape 3.0 (Windows,
  76. Macintosh, and FreeBSD), and Internet Explorer 3.0 (Windows).

  80. WinView and View

  82. To make browsing the disc easier, we have included the program WinView
  83. for Windows, and the program VIEW for MSDOS on the CDROM.  These programs
  84. allow you to page through index files, browse through directories on the
  85. CD, view documentation and uncompress/install the program(s) you want
  86. onto your hard disk.

  92. This disk contains many shareware programs and images. Shareware can
  93. be considered to be a sort of try before you buy system where you are
  94. expected to pay the program author a registration fee if you find the
